Mobridge volunteer fire department officers were approved by the Mobridge City Council during Tuesday’s (December 14th) meeting.  They are:  Chief Doug DeLa Roi, Assistant Chief Ryan Ries, Secretary Treasurer Kelly Silbernagel, and Training Officer Justin Sadler.  Council also approved the purchase of rescue equipment in the amount of $22,500.

The first reading of an ordinance amending Ordinance 9-6-1 pertaining to construction of sidewalks, curbing, gutter, and ramps was approved.  Mayor Gene Cox read the ordinance.

Council approved the bid protest procedure policy.  City Finance Officer Heather Beck explained the need for the policy.

For the airport project the council approved two items:  Change Order Number 2 Final for the apron taxi lane; and Pay Request Number 4 Final to B&B Contracting.

The 2022 agreement with NECOG was approved Tuesday night.

Council gave approval to a revised Scherr Howe Key Use Policy for adults age 18 and older.

January 11, 2022 was set as the date for a public hearing on an alley closure petition.

The first reading on a Supplemental Appropriations ordinance was approved.  Finance Officer Beck gave an update on the funds.

Capital outlay transfers were approved.  Mayor Cox had the details on where the money is headed.

Also last night, Council approved an agreement with Walworth County for Emergency Manager office space in the Fire Hall, free of charge in exchange for the county landfill accepting rubble from two structures.  This agreement will be in effect January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2024.

Council held discussion on changing their meeting day each month from Tuesdays to Wednesdays.  A resolution would have to pass to put the change in place.

The Mobridge City Council’s year-end meeting will be held December 28th at 5:30pm.
